Privacy Policy

Last updated: November 6, 2026

Who we are

This website, https://paskudive.com, belongs to Pasku Dive, a dive center in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo, Mexico. We are responsible for the personal data collected through this site. If you have any question about your data, write to us at contact@paskudive.com.

What data we collect, and why

Contact and booking forms

When you send us a message or a booking request, we collect your name, your email address, the subject and your message, plus any details you choose to add (dates, certification level, number of divers). We use this information only to answer you and organize your dives. Your message is sent to our email, and a copy is kept on the website so that no request gets lost.

Online payments

Some bookings are paid through WeTravel, a secure checkout shown on our booking page. Your payment card details are entered directly into WeTravel’s system and are never stored on our website. WeTravel’s own privacy policy applies to the payment.

Comments

When you leave a comment, we collect the name and email address you enter, as well as your IP address and your browser’s user agent, to help detect spam. Your email address is never shown publicly.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service to check whether you use it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture is visible to the public next to your comment.

Signing in with a social account

You can sign in with Google, Facebook or X to leave a comment. Before anything happens, you are asked to agree. If you do, the network you chose shares your name, your email address and your profile picture with us, and we create a basic account on our website so your comments are linked to you. We never receive your password, and we never post anything on your social accounts. You can ask us to delete this account at any time.

Website statistics

We use Google Analytics, through Site Kit by Google, to understand how visitors use our website: the pages viewed, the approximate location (country or city), the type of device and browser, and how you found us. This information uses cookies and helps us improve the website.

Spam and security protection

Our forms are protected by Google reCAPTCHA, which checks how the page is used to tell people and automated programs apart. Google’s privacy policy and terms of use apply. Comments and messages are also checked by anti-spam tools running on our website, and our security system records the IP addresses of visits to block attacks.

Services from other companies on our pages

Some parts of our pages load content from other companies. When that happens, your browser connects directly to their servers, and they may receive your IP address and use their own cookies:

  • Google Maps: the map on our home and contact pages.
  • Google Fonts: the fonts used on the website.
  • Google Reviews: the reviews of our dive center shown on our pages.
  • WhatsApp (Meta): only if you click our WhatsApp button, which opens a conversation with us in WhatsApp.
  • WeTravel: the payment checkout on our booking page.

Content from other websites behaves exactly as if you had visited those websites. They may collect data about you, use cookies and track your interaction with that content, especially if you have an account with them and are logged in.

Cookies

Cookies are small files saved by your browser. Our website uses:

  • Language: remembers the language you chose (English, Spanish or French). Lasts one year.
  • Comments: if you agree, remembers your name, email address and website for your next comment. Lasts one year.
  • Login: if you sign in to comment, keeps you logged in for two days, or two weeks if you select “Remember me”.
  • Statistics: the Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_…). Last up to two years.
  • Spam protection: the cookies of Google reCAPTCHA.

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. If you block them, some parts of the website, like the forms or the comments, may not work properly.

Who we share your data with

We never sell or rent your personal data. We only share what is needed with the companies that help us run the website: our web host (IONOS), Google (Analytics, reCAPTCHA, Maps, Fonts and sign-in), the social network you choose to sign in with, and WeTravel for payments. These companies may process data outside Mexico, including in the United States and the European Union.

If you request a password reset, your IP address is included in the reset email.

How long we keep your data

  • Messages and booking requests: as long as needed to answer you and manage your booking, and for any period required by tax or legal obligations.
  • Comments: kept indefinitely, so we can recognize and approve your next comments automatically, unless you ask us to delete them.
  • Accounts: until you ask us to delete your account. You can see and edit your profile information at any time, except your username.
  • Statistics: according to the data retention settings of Google Analytics.
  • Backups: copies of the website, which may include this data, are kept for a limited time for security.

Your rights over your data

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • give you access to the personal data we hold about you, or send you a copy of it,
  • correct your data if it is wrong or incomplete,
  • delete your data,
  • stop using your data or limit how we use it, and withdraw any consent you gave.

In Mexico, these are known as your ARCO rights (access, rectification, cancellation and opposition). If you live in the European Union, the GDPR gives you these same rights, as well as the right to file a complaint with your data protection authority. These rights do not cover data we must keep for administrative, legal or security reasons.

To use any of these rights, write to us at contact@paskudive.com with your name and your request. We will answer within the time limits set by the applicable law.

Children

This website is not intended for children under 16 to use on their own. Bookings for minors must be made by a parent or legal guardian.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our website or the law changes. The date at the top of this page shows the latest version.
